We’re not only a community garden for people – insects and birds also find a home here! Right next to our gardens, we create vibrant wildflower meadows. These provide food and habitat for many creatures and make our city a little more natural and lively.
So, if you’re wondering why you don’t see flowers in our raised beds: we plant them in the meadows next door – specifically for our animal friends!
More Diversity
We place a strong emphasis on diversity in our wildflower meadows! With our seed mixes, we sow over 50 different types of flowers. Not all flowers always establish themselves, but we ensure a colorful mix. This creates an important food source for bees, beetles, wasps, and flies. Some of these insects are specialized in certain flowers – the more diverse our mix, the more animals can benefit from the meadows.
Good to know: Our seeds come from regional flower mixes, so the plants are perfectly suited to the animals that call this place home!

Would you like to help care for and beautify our wildflower meadows?
Several times a year, we get together to maintain the wildflower meadows. Often, this is part of our “community gardening” events, where everyone is welcome!
You can find the current dates on our German Homepage, or feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you!
